India-Australia relations have changed course and shifted into a higher orbit, according to Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs. Stronger leadership and more open communication have revealed the benefits of greater cooperation and coordination for both parties, added Dr. Jaishankar.

According to Dr. Jaishankar, India and Australia have worked bilaterally and in wider forms to address the global goods imbalance, which underscores their shared concerns about upholding international law and a rules-based system.

Dr. Jaishankar emphasised that Exercise Malabar 2020 participation by Australia was also influenced by increased political confidence and improved defence cooperation.
