Mr. Piyush Goyal Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India said that India has set up an aggressive 30-day timeline to finalize an early harvest agreement before firming a full-fledged trade agreement between the countries. He said that India and Australia are both focusing on education as the center stage of negotiation and will be focusing on mutual recognition of educational qualification.

He also added that this will be the fastest free trade negotiation ever done by India or by Australia for large economies. Both the countries will also sign a pact for tourism and improve cooperation to encourage bilateral relations. India’s treasury and the finance ministry will try to solve pending investment-related issues and this will be a part of the agreement.
