India-Australia will finalise the economic cooperation agreement by this year

The Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Anthony Albanese informed that India and Australia have agreed on an early conclusion of the comprehensive economic cooperation agreement. He also expressed hope that it is expected to be finalised by the end of this year only.
The comprehensive strategic alliance between Australia and India, he added, is supported in large part by security cooperation.
Further, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi highlighted that maritime security was discussed for the Indo-Pacific region.
Both leaders also witnessed an exchange of several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between the two countries. The MoUs were signed in sports and audio-visual co-production, and Australia and India also swapped terms of reference for a solar task force.
