India becomes the third country in the world with a million Uber drivers

During Uber's earnings call for the March quarter, CEO Mr. Dara Khosrowshahi announced that Uber now has over 1 million drivers in India, making it the third country, after the US and Brazil, to achieve this milestone. He highlighted India's significant growth potential, noting a 17% increase in audience growth driven by expansion into new geographies and use cases.

Despite a 15% surge in global revenue to US$ 10.13 billion in the quarter ending March 31, Uber reported a net loss of US$ 654 million, a notable increase from the previous year. He emphasized Uber's strategy to enhance user growth by expanding its presence in existing core markets and entering new consumer segments. Additionally, Uber signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) in February, aiming to explore integration opportunities to broaden mobility options on the Uber app.
