India becoming 'content hub' of the world: Anurag Thakur at Cannes Festival

According to Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information & Broadcasting, and Youth Affairs & Sports, India is becoming a content centre of the globe and the preferred post-production hub for global filmmakers. He said this while addressing the 75th Cannes Film Festival, where India is the 'First Country of Honour'.

Cannes Film Festival included celebrities from the world of Indian cinema. This included acclaimed actors Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mr. R. Madhavan, music maestro Mr. A.R. Rahman, filmmaker Mr. Shekhar Kapur, and noted lyricist and Censor Board chief Mr. Prasoon Joshi.

Rocketry: 'The Nambi Effect,' directed by Mr. R Madhavan, is one of the films selected to represent India at the festival. Mr. Ricky Kej, a two-time Grammy winner, is among the Indian delegation’s other members, as are southern actresses Ms. Pooja Hegde, Ms. Tamannaah Bhatia, and Ms. Aditi Rao Hydari.

According to 'Variety', India will be featured throughout the festival this year.
