India consumer confidence improves in January, survey reveals

In January, the Refinitiv-Ipsos Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) reported a noteworthy surge in domestic consumer confidence, revealing positive perceptions regarding job security, economic conditions, current financial situations, and investment prospects. The survey highlighted India's global leadership in consumer sentiment, boasting a national index score of 66.5 points, the highest among the 29 surveyed markets.

The PCSI, a composite of four key sub-indices encompassing personal financial conditions, investment, economic expectations, and jobs, displayed positive trends in all areas. The personal financial conditions sub-index witnessed a 2.0 point increase, the investment sub-index rose by 2.5 points, the economic expectations sub-index also increased by 2.5 points, and the jobs sub-index recorded a substantial ascent of 3.7 points. The Refinitiv-Ipsos survey reflects an optimistic outlook on consumer sentiment, positioning India at the forefront of global confidence indices.
