The 4th Meeting of the India-Denmark Joint Working Group (JWG) between the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, and the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) was held in Copenhagen from 24 to 28 August 2026 to strengthen bilateral cooperation in MSME development, innovation and intellectual property (IP). Discussions covered technology adoption, innovation, IP, technology commercialisation, entrepreneurship and cluster-based MSME development. The Indian delegation was led by Dr. Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, along with officials from the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the Embassy of India in Copenhagen, represented by Mr. Manish Prabhat, Ambassador of India to Denmark. The Danish delegation comprised officials from DKPTO and the Royal Danish Embassy, New Delhi.
As part of the programme, the Indian delegation visited Aarhus University Innovation "Kitchen" and Agro Food Park to learn about Denmark's innovation support and business cluster ecosystems, and engaged with the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs on business development and the SME ecosystem. Dr. Rajneesh also participated in the Nordic-India Startup Summit 2026 by TechBBQ, interacting with stakeholders from the Nordic start-up and innovation ecosystem. The concluding JWG discussions reviewed previous engagement outcomes and priorities for future collaboration, with Mr. Manish Prabhat appreciating the JWG mechanism's success and reaffirming support for continued engagement, underscoring the shared commitment of both countries to innovation and IP-led MSME growth.
