India deserves to be in list of global superpowers: Russian President Mr. Vladimir Putin

Russian President Mr. Vladimir Putin has stated that India deserves to be included among global superpowers. Its rapidly growing economy outpaces all other nations. Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, he highlighted India’s billion-and-a-half population, ancient culture, and strong prospects for future growth. He underscored the expanding cooperation between India and Russia, noting that trust in bilateral relations is at an all-time high. He also remarked that India leads the world in economic growth. The two countries’ partnership spans multiple sectors, particularly security and defence.
He referred to the BrahMos cruise missile project as a prime example of Indo-Russian collaboration, explaining that the missile has been adapted for air, sea, and land operations. The joint development of military equipment and mutual trust strengthen their relationship. He acknowledged the ongoing difficulties of the India-China border. However, he expressed optimism that competent leaders would find a resolution. Meanwhile, India and China have made considerable progress towards resolving tensions following a 2020 military clash, with agreements on troop disengagement and patrolling along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. This breakthrough aims to end the four-year standoff between the two nations.
