Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2024, emphasised that while the world grapples with uncertainties, India stands as a beacon of hope. He noted that over the past four to five years, global discussions have often centred around concerns for the future, including challenges such as COVID-19, supply chain disruptions, conflicts, and climate change. Despite these global tensions, he asserted, India has emerged as a source of optimism. He highlighted that although India faces challenges, its positive outlook has helped it thrive amidst global instability.
He outlined the government’s achievements in just 125 days, including approval for three crore houses for the underprivileged, US$ 107.09 billion (Rs. 9 lakh crore) worth of infrastructure projects, and the launch of 15 new Vande Bharat trains. Additionally, work has commenced on constructing eight airports, installing rooftop solar plants in five lakh homes, and planting 90 crore trees under the 'Ek Pedh Maa ke Naam' campaign. The Sensex and Nifty indices have risen 6-7%, and India's foreign exchange reserves have crossed US$ 700 billion. He also underscored the importance of future goals. He announced the India AI mission to boost artificial intelligence across healthcare, education, and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) sectors.
