India flight-tests new-generation ballistic missile 'Agni Prime'

According to officials, the new-generation ballistic missile known as ‘Agni Prime’ was successfully flight-tested on June 8, 2023 from an island off the coast of Odisha.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted the test from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island, and all objectives were achieved.
After three successful developmental trials of the missile, it was informed that this was the first pre-induction night launch undertaken, proving the accuracy and reliability of the system.
Range instrumentation, including radar, telemetry, and electro-optical tracking systems, were set up at several sites, including two down-range ships to record flight data throughout the whole route.
The successful flight test, which opened the door for the system's introduction into the armed forces, was observed by senior officials from the DRDO and Strategic Forces Command.
