India and France have agreed to a plan on the blue economy and ocean governance to strengthen their partnership in the areas of economics, infrastructure, and science in order to maximise the use and preservation of marine resources. Mr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Union Minister of External Affairs, and his French counterpart, Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, agreed on the road map on February 20, 2022 in Paris. During the talks both the countires appreciated their close copperation during the covid-19 pandemic. The "India-France Roadmap on the Blue Economy and Ocean Governance" aims to strengthen blue economy cooperation through institutional, economic, infrastructure, and scientific collaboration, according to the document.
