Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman said that the FDI into the country during the Modi government was US$ 500.5 billion, which is 65% greater than the amount received in the 10 years of the UPA government, as investors have trusted the economic management of the current regime.

According to a UNCTAD report, India remains among the top five foreign direct investment recipient countries in the world.

Inflows of FDI totaled US$ 81.72 billion in 2020-21, up from US$ 74.9 billion the previous fiscal year.

Despite the covid pandemic, no tax was increased to fund the economic recovery, which was something that 32 other countries resorted to.

She also stated that Rs 8.35 lakh crore (US$ 110.46 billion) in national taxes had been devolved to states in the current fiscal year, which is higher than the revised projection of Rs 7.45 lakh crore (US$ 98.55 billion) for 2021-22.
