India has a new world record, and it belongs to NHAI

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has established a world record that has been certified by Guinness World Records. The confirmation comes from Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, who tweeted a certificate from the Guinness World Records authorities confirming the same.

NHAI established the world record by constructing 75 km continuous Bituminous Concrete in Single Lane on the section of NH-53 between Amravati to Akola, said Mr. Gadkari.

As part of the government's monetisation policy, NHAI had offered an additional three highways totaling 247 km to its Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT). Its InvIT has also paid a dividend of 0.79 paisa per unit to unit holders for FY 2021-22 .

The InvIT started with a portfolio of five operational toll roads spanning 390 km across Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Telangana. NHAI granted new 30 year concessions for these routes.
