At Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the 42nd edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 has officially kicked off and will last for 14 days.
Mr. Som Prakash, the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, graced the inaugural, which was attended by Mr. Anupriya Patel, the Minister of State.
The IITF's theme for this year is "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which takes its inspiration from ancient Indian philosophy and emphasises the need for trade cooperation and interconnectedness for attaining sustainable prosperity and well-being.
The IITF offers an ideal platform to showcase Indian products and infuse renewed confidence and vigour in the Indian economy. IITF 2023 occupies an expansive 110,000 square metres and features almost 3,500 exhibitors from both India and abroad.
Bihar and Kerala are partner states for this event, while Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh are the focus states. This year, there are 28 states and Union territories actively taking part in the exhibition.
Participating actively in the event from overseas are representatives from 13 countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman, Egypt, Nepal, Thailand, Turkiye, Vietnam, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Iran, and the UAE.
Much like in past years, the State Day Celebrations, seminars, and cultural events will be additional highlights for the guests.
46 Central ministries, commodity boards, and PSUs—the Department of Income Tax, the Ministry of Ayush, the Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Ltd., the National Jute Board, the Ministry of Rural Development, the RBI, MSME, the NHDC, the LIC, the DC Handicraft, the Spices Board of India, the Ministry of Railways, the SBI, the TRIFED, the Ministry of Social Justice, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Power, the Ministry of Steel, and the Ministry of Mines—will participate in order to highlight the accomplishments in their respective sectors.
The timings of the fair will be 10:00 am to 7:30 pm. Over 100,000 visitors are anticipated over the course of the next 14 days. Except for the Supreme Court Metro Station, a few metro stations have tickets available both online and offline.
The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) has made extensive efforts to enhance both exhibitors' and visitors' overall experiences. An extensive circulation area and a spacious layout are features of the design. Modern halls with state-of-the-art amenities, modern restrooms, seating facilities, and green areas will enhance guests' comfort and pleasure.
