India remains the world's third-largest producer of billionaires, with 215 billionaires in the country and 58 new arrivals, bringing the total to 249 billionaires, 25 of whom live in India. Since the last decade, the number of Indian billionaires has doubled every five years. Self-made billionaires account for 59% of the country's billionaires, demonstrating that the new generation of entrepreneurs is financially well informed, asset-rich, and investment-savvy. Mumbai has the most amount of billionaires in India with a total count of 72.
The richest Indian and the individual who added the most money in the previous year are, Mr Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries, who is India's richest man, with US$ 103 billion. Mr Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, has amassed the largest wealth in the recent year, totalling US$ 49 billion. Over the course of the year, Adani added Rs 6,000 crore (US$ 791.18 million) every week. With a net worth of US$ 81 billion, he is the second-richest Indian and Asian. Adani Group’s renewable energy company also had a great year. India is also home to the world's wealthiest aviation billionaires: Mr Rakesh Gangwal and Mr Rahul Bhatia, as well as the family of "Indigo" airlines, with fortunes of US$ 4.3 billion and US$ 4.2 billion, respectively. The year was also a defining moment for India's startup ecosystem, with major IPOs including four companies on the Hurun Global Unicorn Index. Mr Byju Raveendran of Byju's, an online tutoring start-up, is the world's third-richest entrepreneur in the education industry, with a fortune of US$ 3.3 billion
