India is one of the fastest growing luxury watch markets: CEO of H. Moser & Cie., Mr. Edouard Meylan

Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. has opened its first standalone boutique in India, located at City of Time by Ethos in Gurugram. This boutique is the sixth globally, following openings in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Menlo Park, and Seoul. The store, launched in partnership with Ethos Ltd, is designed as an experiential destination showcasing exclusive timepieces such as the Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Boutique Edition, limited to only 17 pieces worldwide. In an interview, the CEO of H. Moser & Cie., Mr. Edouard Meylan, highlighted the importance of the Indian market, noting its position among the top 15 fastest-growing luxury markets globally. He emphasised the brand's strategy of focusing on quality over quantity, opting for high-visibility locations in major markets like India and China. He also noted the growing community of passionate and knowledgeable watch collectors in India, indicating significant potential for further market expansion.
He discussed the partnership with Ethos Ltd, attributing the collaboration to the CEO of Ethos Ltd., Mr. Pranav Saboo's vision and passion for independent watch brands. He stressed that H. Moser & Cie. maintains a consistent global offering, with identical designs and products across all boutiques. The brand does not tailor its offerings to local tastes, instead focusing on its core identity and values. He highlighted the importance of traditional watchmaking, advocating for the preservation of craftsmanship while embracing new technologies. He also touched on the brand's unique approach to luxury, which avoids flashy logos in favour of artistic and detailed craftsmanship. Looking ahead, Meylan sees a future for haute horlogerie that balances tradition with innovation, ensuring the survival and growth of the industry.
