According to Reliance Jio’s Chairman Mr. Akash Ambani, the company has deployed more than 10 lakh 5G cells across all 22 circles in India, accounting for 85% of the nation's total 5G capacity.

Jio's 5G deployment, according to Mr. Akash Ambani, is supported by a completely domestic 5G stack that was designed, developed, and manufactured by Indian experts.

According to Mr. Akash Ambani, who was addressing the India Mobile Congress 2023, “Now, Jio can provide 5G access to over 200 million unconnected homes and premises, making India the broadband capital of the world.”

He claimed that with over 125 million 5G users, India currently stands among the top three 5G-enabled countries. "Millions of Indians will have new jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities thanks to 5G's transformative power," he added.

The JioBharat 4G feature phone was recently released by Jio and costs Rs. 999 (US$ 12.01). He remarked that Jio is poised to permanently eradicate digital exclusion in India with such an initiative.

At the India Mobile Congress 2023, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited unveiled JioSpaceFiber, the country's first giga-fibre service based on satellite technology that will bring high-speed internet to previously inaccessible regions of India.

According to a release, Jio has teamed up with SES to use their medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite technology. This is the only MEO constellation that can provide unique Gigabit, fiber-like services from space. In order to test the new service, Jio has already connected four remote locations: Gir in Gujarat, Korba in Chattisgarh, Nabrangpur in Odisha, and ONGC in Jorhat, Assam.
