Sales of luxury vehicles in India rose in double digits year-on-year during the first nine months of 2026, supported by replacement demand despite price hikes and geopolitical uncertainties. Mercedes-Benz India, the market leader, registered its highest-ever quarterly retail sales in July-September 2026, delivering 5,422 vehicles, up 5.9% year-on-year, helping the company achieve record January-September sales of 15,190 units, up 7.5% from 14,132 units a year earlier. Mr. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz India, said the quarterly performance marked the company's best-ever, with growth supported by its core models, top-end luxury range and electric vehicles, alongside festive demand and its Dream Days campaign.

The Core Luxury segment, led by the C-Class, long-wheelbase E-Class, GLC and GLE, accounted for around 60% of deliveries, while Top-End Luxury grew 13%, contributing more than a quarter of total sales, with the Mercedes-AMG portfolio recording 18% growth. The company's battery-electric vehicle portfolio grew 16%, with the new CLA BEV securing more than 1,000 confirmed orders, while the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV posted 68% year-on-year growth. The Entry Luxury segment grew 4%, representing approximately 15% of sales. Mercedes-Benz plans to begin deliveries of the new electrified S-Class from mid-October 2026, with the GLC BEV set to debut in India on 4th November 2026.
