By the end of the decade, Mr. Dhankhar also professed confidence that India will overtake the US as the third-largest economy in the world.
He remarked that the handicraft industry has enormous development potential, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions.
Mr. Dhankhar further recommended that experts from IITs and IIMs may aid the sector in fostering its expansion and product branding. He emphasised the importance of branding and claimed that the handicraft industry was the only one where significant value addition was feasible.
India's takeover of the G20 presidency on December 1 would present a chance to promote handicrafts throughout the world.
