India and the Netherlands are set to strengthen their clean energy collaboration by establishing a green and digital corridor between Indian ports and the Port of Rotterdam. During a recent visit to the Netherlands, the Commerce Secretary Government of India, Mr. Sunil Barthwal, met with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Mr. Boudewijn Siemon, to advance the framework for exporting green hydrogen and its carriers—such as ammonia and methanol—from India to Europe. The initiative will enhance bilateral trade through improved port digitalisation, green shipping, and optimised logistics. The corridor will support India’s Maritime Vision 2030 to modernise port infrastructure and boost operational efficiency.

Mr. Sunil Barthwal also engaged in discussions with Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography (ASML) CEO Mr. Christophe Fouquet to explore semiconductor collaboration, focusing on leveraging ASML’s photolithography expertise to support India’s ambition of becoming a global semiconductor manufacturing hub. Additionally, he visited Croatia, where talks were held with senior officials, including the State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development, Mr. Zdenko Lucić, and State Secretary for Economy, Mr. Ivo Milatić. The discussions centred around the progress of the proposed India-European Union free trade agreement, reinforcing India's commitment to expanding its economic partnerships within Europe.
