President Ms. Droupadi Murmu praised India’s achievements in milk and milk product production, highlighting the vital role livestock plays in the rural economy. Speaking virtually during the launch of initiatives by the Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation, she acknowledged the significant contribution of diverse livestock breeds to India’s agricultural heritage. She emphasised the government’s ongoing efforts to support livestock through measures focused on breed development and genetic improvement.
She also noted the remarkable growth in the productivity of milch cattle over the last decade, underlining the country’s commitment to excellence in animal husbandry. While commending these advancements, she stressed the need for further improvement in animal health, which would enhance the quality of milk and other animal-based food products. She concluded by emphasising that nationwide efforts in animal health and productivity would contribute significantly to building a healthier India.
