India’s "AI for All" vision is backed by concrete action, positioning the country as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) skill penetration and innovation, according to Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, Mr. Jitin Prasada. At NASSCOM Global Confluence 2025, Mr. Jitin Prasada highlighted that India's AI skill penetration surpasses the United States and Germany. He urged industry leaders to prioritise research and development (R&D), ensuring India remains a strategic technology partner in the global digital transformation. He also emphasised the importance of extending future skills programmes to rural areas, equipping the workforce for evolving technological advancements.
India’s Information Technology (IT) industry generated Rs. 21,93,544 crore (US$ 254 billion) in revenue in 2024, reflecting its role as a global digital powerhouse. With a presence in over 80 countries, Indian firms are at the forefront of cutting-edge solutions for Fortune 500 companies, leveraging expertise in emerging technologies such as AI and quantum computing. He stressed that India’s highly skilled workforce, innovation-driven ecosystem, and strong policy support are key to maintaining its AI and digital economy leadership. He reiterated that India's AI strategy aligns with economic growth, skill development, and digital inclusion, ensuring that technological benefits reach every section of society.
