India’s economy is projected to grow by 7.35% in the second quarter of FY27, according to the Monthly Economic Review for October released by the Ministry of Finance. Economic momentum remains strong, supported by higher industrial output, energy consumption and port traffic, along with robust Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections and rising automobile sales. Together, these high-frequency indicators reflect broad-based activity across industry, energy, logistics, tax collections and consumer demand.
The report also highlighted the resilience of India’s external sector amid global uncertainty. Total merchandise and services exports grew 11% year-on-year (YoY) in September 2026. Merchandise exports rose 23.1%, emerging as the main driver of export growth. Electronics and engineering goods contributed significantly to this increase.
