India’s electronics exports crossed the Rs. 4 lakh crore (US$ 48.2 billion) mark for the first time in 2025, marking a significant milestone for the sector, according to Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw. The Minister stated that this growth in electronic product exports has boosted foreign exchange earnings and supported job creation within India’s electronics ecosystem. It was further added that the growth momentum is expected to continue into 2026, with four semiconductor manufacturing plants slated to commence commercial operations, which will further enhance India’s export capabilities and strengthen its position in the global electronics supply chain.

The electronics sector, which encompasses mobile phones, components, accessories, and other high-value products, has experienced robust growth driven by rising production levels and increased participation from global manufacturers. India’s electronics export performance in 2025 reflects the cumulative impact of policy incentive programmes and the scaling up of the industry, including initiatives that support local manufacturing and export competitiveness. The expansion of electronics exports highlights the evolution of India’s manufacturing ecosystem and its increasingly integrated role in the global marketplace. In his remarks, continued growth in electronic device exports, along with domestic production gains, is expected to generate sustained economic benefits as new manufacturing facilities become operational, supply chain activity expands, and export volumes increase further in 2026.
