India's G20 Presidency is a 'very big deal': External Affairs Minister

Dr. S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India, while addressing the Indian members in Austria, stated that the G20 Presidency is a very big deal for India as the country will be hosting the meetings of the powerful grouping at a time of great economic stress on the global supply chains. He further added that the country intends to use its presidency for the benefit of the international community.

India assumed its G20 Presidency on December 1, 2022, and the next G20 Leaders’ Summit will be held on September 9-10, 2023, in New Delhi.

The Minster stated that India will be a voice of fairness and justice and the country will ensure that it emerges as a voice for societies and countries to speak for them. The G20 Presidency will be done in across the country to over 55 cities. Further, he mentioned that India’s diversity of every religion, culture, local cuisine, and local product will be on a display to the world. It is a kind of marketing of India to the world, he said.
