India’s global capability centre (GCC) workforce is set to reach three million by 2030, creating around four lakh job opportunities for freshers and witnessing a 3–5% improvement in gender diversity, according to the HR investment platform FirstMeridian. The growth is driven by India’s diverse talent pool, strong digital literacy, cost advantages, and the increasing participation of industries such as information technology, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), and data engineering. FirstMeridian Business Services CEO – Information Technology Staffing, Mr. Sunil Nehra, stated that the GCC market in India is projected to be valued at Rs. 9,38,300 crore (US$ 110 billion) by 2030 as more global firms choose India as their strategic operations hub.

The expansion of the GCC ecosystem is expected to generate approximately 1.5 lakh jobs by 2026, of which nearly one lakh will be entry-level roles suitable for fresh graduates. Currently, women comprise 40% of the GCC workforce in India—a figure likely to improve further as companies continue to invest in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. While the overall gender ratio is expected to remain steady.
