Home renovation platform Livspace crossed the billion-dollar valuation mark after raising US$ 180 million in a late-stage funding round led by KKR & Co. Livspace, which is registered in Singapore but conducts the majority of its operations in India, has raised about US$ 450 million to date. The home renovation platform is the 86th "unicorn" from India, according to Venture Intelligence Unicorn Tracker.
Livspace intends to use this funding to expand overseas, as well as be better equipped to take on domestic competitors. The other investors in this round included Swedish retailer Ikea, Jungle Ventures, Venturi Partners and Peugeot Investments.
For the lead investor KKR & Co., the sale is the latest in a succession of consumer internet deals which include Indian eyeglasses shop Lenskart, China's digital dairy venture Adopt A Cow, and small business-focused platforms GrowSari and KiotViet in Southeast Asia.
