India’s merchandise export in April-September 2022-23 was US$ 229.05 billion with an increase of 15.54% over US$ 198.25 billion in April-September 2021-22.

India exported goods worth US$ 32.62 billion in value in September 2022, down 3.52% from US$ 33.81 billion in September 2021. India exported US$ 229.05 billion worth of goods from April-September 2022–23, a rise of 15.54% over US$ 198.25 billion from April-September 2021–22.

Compared to non-petroleum exports of US$ 28.62 billion in September 2021, the value of non-petroleum exports in September 2022 was US$ 26.54 billion, representing a negative growth of 7.25%. Non-petroleum exports increased in value from April-September 2022–23 to US$ 179.17 billion, a 5.6% rise over US$ US$ 169.67 billion last year.

India imported US$ 59.35 billion worth of goods in September 2022, up 5.44% from US$ 56.29 billion in the same month the previous year. India imported US$ 378.53 billion worth of goods from April-September 2022–23, up 37.89% from US$ 274.5 billion from April-September 2021–22.

The trade deficit in September 2022 stood at US$ 26.72 billion, while it was US$ 149.47 billion during April -September 2022-23. The trade deficit in September 2022 decreased from the US$ 28.68 billion deficit in August 2022.
