India's milk production rises 5% to 221.06 million tonnes in FY22: Centre

Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Mr. Parshottam Rupala said that India produced 221.06 million tonnes of milk in 2021–2022, an increase of 5% in FY22 and released the annual magazine Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2022. He claimed that the book has grown into a crucial resource for livestock knowledge.

The milk output saw an annual growth rate of 5.29% in 2021–2022. Rajasthan (15.05%), Uttar Pradesh (14.93%), Madhya Pradesh (8.06%), Gujarat (7.56%), and Andhra Pradesh (6.97%) are the top five states that produce the most milk.

In 2021–2022, the nation produced 129.60 billion eggs, an increase of 6.19% from the previous year. Andhra Pradesh produces the most eggs (20.41%), followed by Tamil Nadu (16.08%), Telangana (12.86%), West Bengal (8.84%), and Karnataka (6.38%).

The country's total meat production for 2021-22 is 9.29 million tonnes, with a 5.62% annual growth rate. The top five States that produce the most meat together are Maharashtra (12.25%), Uttar Pradesh (12.14%), West Bengal (11.63%), Andhra Pradesh (11.04%), and Telangana (10.82%).

In the years 2021–2022, there will be 444 grammes of milk per person each day The per-capita availability of eggs in 2021-22 is 95 per year. In the years 2021–2022, 6.82 kg of beef will be available per person year.
