According to the most recent figures from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), passenger vehicle exports from India climbed by 2% in the second quarter of FY23, with Maruti Suzuki India dominating the market with dispatches of more than 1.31 lakh units.

In the period from July-September, there were 160,590 passenger vehicle (PV) exports in total, up from 157,551 during the same time last year.

During the period, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) was the market leader, followed by Hyundai Motor India and Kia India.

According to SIAM President Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, several countries in Asia and Latin America have been obliged to enact import restrictions in order to protect foreign exchange as a result of the US dollar's strengthening relative to local currencies.
