Despite global political uncertainties and tariff disputes affecting many countries in 2022, India’s Smartphone Export industry has continued to develop at an accelerating pace. Recently released statistics from the Indian government show that exports of smartphones to the US, grew more than three times year-on-year (YoY) to US$ 1.47 billion in October, compared to US$ 0.46 billion in the same month last year. Between April and October 2025, International shipments of Smartphones from India to the US increased to Rs. 89,474 crore (US$ 10.78 billion) as opposed to Rs. 29,880 crore (US$ 3.60 billion) for the same period of the previous year indicating the continued expansion of India’s position within the high value Smartphone export market and its connection with both domestic and international technology supply chains. The continued growth of Indian smartphone export activity can be attributed in part to the Indian Government’s Production-linked Incentive (PLI) Initiative, which has supported the expansion of the manufacturing capacity of several of India’s largest Smartphone manufacturers.
During the period April to October 2025, India's smartphone exports experienced strong growth, increasing by nearly 50%, from Rs. 88,500 crore in April to October 2024 (US$ 10.68 billion) to over Rs. 1,32,385 crore  (US$ 15.95 billion) this year, representing 49.35% growth. Monthly data also support India's development. All of these numbers indicate that India is emerging as a major player in global smartphone manufacturing and exports, and that a developing ecosystem is supporting the continued growth of India's smartphone manufacturing exports, an expanding supplier base, and increasing competitiveness in the global electronics supply chain.
