India’s steel output increased by 5% to 10.34 million tonnes in November 2022: Report

India’s crude steel output increased by 5% to 10.34 million tonne (MT) in November 2022, as per SteelMint India, while around 9.88 MT of steel was produced in the same month last year.

The report says that around 6.28 MT steel was produced by the top six steel makers – Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Tata Steel, Jindal Southwest (JSW) Steel, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) India and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam RINL, and the rest 4.06 MT was produced by the secondary sector. Whereas, in November 2021, the secondary industry produced 3.79 MT.

The production of finished steel spur by 3.41% to 9.55 MT as compared to November 2021, and its imports almost doubled to 0.60 MT from 0.31 MT, whereas its exports fell decreased by 53% to 0.34 MT.
