According to industry figures, India's tractor export numbers for 2025 have rebounded strongly from a very weak situation over the previous 2 years, after performing poorly in those years. For the period January to November 2025, total tractor exports were 95,191 units, up 6% from the same period in 2024. The current forecast expects total tractor exports in 2025 to exceed 100,000 units before the end of December 2025. In 2023, and 2024, tractor export volumes were below 1 lakh (100,000) units due to weak demand from major markets (Africa, Turkey, and the USA), currency challenges, and inflation.
Tractor exports are on the rise due to continued growth from most export market segments and improved performance by the strongest manufacturers in India. Mahindra & Mahindra, the largest tractor exporter in India, reported tractor export sales that were higher than expected from January to November 2025, with excellent sales strength in the regions of South Asia and Africa. Similarly, Escorts Ltd increased its exports to Europe and is now exporting to Mexico as well, with its first shipments.  Industry analysts predict that exports of tractors will continue to develop at an annual rate of 5%-10% into 2026, driven by improved demand signals and stabilising conditions in key geographies.
