India seen as 'friendly, fair' as well as 'firm, fiery' nation: External Affairs Minister Mr. S Jaishankar

During a discussion at Delhi University's Hansraj College, External Affairs Minister Mr. S Jaishankar emphasized India's evolving global image as both "friendly and fair" and "firm and fiery," particularly evident in its efforts to protect and support citizens during crises like those in war-torn regions such as Ukraine. He underscored the significance of "Viksit Bharat," not merely as a slogan but as the foundational ethos shaping India's trajectory over the past decade and guiding the nation's future over the next 25 years.

Addressing students, he delineated the forthcoming "Amrit Kaal" as a pivotal phase ripe with opportunities and challenges, unprecedented in scale and scope. He highlighted India's strides in the economic and technological domains, positioning the country as a global technology leader, exemplified by endeavours such as Chandrayaan-3. Additionally, he noted India's burgeoning digital economy, boasting a monthly volume of cashless transactions surpassing 12 billion, outstripping the annual tally in the United States. Moreover, he reiterated India's steadfast stance against cross-border terrorism, citing the Balakot airstrike as a tangible manifestation of the nation's resolve.
