India Semiconductor Mission launches ‘Investors Support’ portal for semiconductor ecosystem

India is accelerating efforts to build a resilient, trusted and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem through strategic policy interventions and targeted industry support under the Semicon India Programme. To date, the Government of India has approved 12 semiconductor fabrication and packaging projects along with 24 semiconductor design projects, strengthening the country’s position as an emerging global hub for chip manufacturing and innovation. In a significant step towards enhancing investor facilitation, the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) launched the “Investors Support” portal on May 26, 2026. The platform aims to provide prospective investors with comprehensive information related to government schemes, policies, approved projects, regulatory processes and investment opportunities in India’s semiconductor sector. The initiative is expected to improve transparency, simplify investor engagement and strengthen confidence among domestic and global stakeholders.

The portal will also function as a single-window digital interface for investors to register grievances and raise operational concerns, which will be addressed in a time-bound manner through coordination among ISM officials, nodal officers from Ministries, Departments, State Governments, approved project companies and industry associations. During the launch event, ISM CEO Mr. Amitesh Kumar Sinha highlighted the importance of proactive investor facilitation and collaborative support mechanisms to further strengthen India’s semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem. The event also included a detailed walkthrough of the portal’s framework, onboarding process, functionalities and coordination systems designed to streamline communication between investors and relevant stakeholders across the semiconductor value chain.
