According to the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA), Indian mills have inked contracts to export 8.5 million tonnes of sugar in the marketing year 2021-22 without government subsidies.
Since the start of the marketing year in October 2022, mills have exported roughly 7.1 million tonnes.
According to the trade group, mills have produced 34.88 million tonnes of sugar so far in 2022, up from 30.48 million tonnes in 2021.
