According to the Indian High Commission, India and Sri Lanka have inked six agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas such as technology, fisheries, and hybrid power projects.

India would also offer grant support for the implementation of Sri Lanka's Unique Digital Identity, which were inked on 28 March in the presence of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Sri Lankan counterpart GL Peiris.

The MoUs cover the implementation of the Sri Lanka Unique Digital Identity (SL-UDI) initiative, as well as the provision of a Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, with India's grant help.

An MoU has been signed on the implementation of hybrid power projects in three islands off the coast of Jaffna, as well as cooperation in the development of Sri Lankan fishing ports.

The two sides signed MoUs for the establishment of modern computer labs and smart boards with customised curriculum software in 200 Galle District schools, as well as a separate memorandum of understanding between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service and the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute.

The statement also pointed out that the Jaffna Cultural Center, which was conceived as a reconciliation project primarily aimed at expanding cultural infrastructure for people of the Northern Province, is a glowing example of India-Sri Lanka development partnership.
