India stands in the ‘front league of nations’ in domains of land, sky, sea, and space, says the Vice-President

On November 30, 2023, India's Vice-President, Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar, underlined that the country is among the "Front leagues of nations" in the domains of land, sky, sea, and space. He stated that the development of many indigenous defence systems and the launch of INS-Vikrant last year served as highlights for this accomplishment.

The Vice-President outlined the path the country has taken thus far—from the "Fragile Five" to the "Big Five"—in remarks to attendees of the 49th Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA) of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in Delhi. According to him, India's economy is currently the fifth largest in the world, but by 2030 it is expected to rise to the third rank.

He remarked that "decision making" is critical to the development of the country and praised the "Men in Uniform." The Vice-President praised the defence personnel for demonstrating the best performance level and exemplifying their unwavering sense of responsibility, citing the example of natural disasters that cause damage.

Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar praised Indian talent, saying, "Indian human genius is unrivalled in the world." The Vice-President further emphasised that the extraordinary per capita internet data consumption that surpasses the combined consumption of the US and China may be attributed to the willingness of all segments of the population to use technology.

The Vice-President pointed out that the current environment represents a "big change," with power corridors now ‘thoroughly sanitised of power-brokers, liaison agents, and middlemen who extra legally leveraged decision making,’ highlighting a significant shift from an ecosystem once embedded in patronage and corruption.

Praising the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 as a noteworthy accomplishment by ISRO, the Vice-President said that ISRO has 'carved out a niche for itself' by launching satellites for several industrialised countries at lowest possible cost. Furthermore, he underlined that when it comes to doing research and concentrating on cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and 6G, India is one of the leading nations.

The Vice-President encouraged the participants to take away from the course something beyond their usual expectations, which would further enhance their professional acumen. He referred to the participants as the "Epicentres and Nerve-Centres" of substantial change because of their representational capacity.
