Minister of Defence Mr. Rajnath Singh stated that the central government is working to reach a defence output turnover of US$ 22 billion by 2025. Speaking at the 'Invest in Defence' event, which is part of the ongoing Defence Expo 2022 in Gujarat's capital Gandhinagar, He also encouraged investors to approach him or defence ministry officials without reluctance to fix concerns.
He urged private investors to invest in the Indian defence industry, saying it is at a critical crossroads. Not just huge corporations, but also start-ups and MSMEs (micro, small, and medium companies) are becoming involved in the defence sector. He believes that the defence industry is in a golden age. A country's defence and economic power complement each other, and a nation will progress more if it is effectively protected from dangers, he said in his presentation to the meeting. Mr. Rajnath Singh stated that India could not achieve from the assumption that we will have to sacrifice on the socioeconomic front if we focus more on building defence capability.
