India has important stakes in peace and prosperity in the Middle East and through the newly-formed I2U2 grouping, it is confident of making significant contributions to energy, food security and economic growth in the region and South Asia.
I2U2 is a four-nation alliance made up of the US, Israel, the UAE, and India. I stands for India and Israel and U for the US and UAE.
On July 14, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi participated in the coalition's first virtual summit and declared that the alliance would be crucial to the advancement of economic growth, food security, and energy security. In front of President of the US Mr. Joe Biden, Israeli Premier Mr. Yair Lapid, and President of the United Arab Emirates Mr. Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Mr. Modi declared that the group has established a constructive agenda and that its framework is an excellent example of effective cooperation in the face of growing global uncertainties.
