India to have world's second-largest metro system in two years: Union Minister, Mr. Hardeep Puri

Union Minister, Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, during an interaction with former judges, veterans, and intellectuals, emphasized the significant development of India's urban metro transport over the past decade. He highlighted that currently, one crore people ride the metro daily, with 73 lakh riders from Delhi alone.

Puri mentioned that India has 945 kilometres of metro systems in operation and an additional 1,000 kilometres under construction, projecting that in the next two and a half years, India will have the world's second-largest urban metro system.
