India to produce 5 billion Covid vaccine doses next year: Piyush Goyal

Addressing an event of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, mentioned that India is planning to enhance its Covid vaccine manufacturing and expecting five billion doses of vaccines to be manufactured next year. He also added that India is ready to export vaccines as per the requirements of partner nations.
He further stated, “So far this year, we have already administered 1.33 billion doses. We are manufacturing for exports as well. We will export as many doses as other nations need.” “Next year, we plan to produce 5 billion doses”.
