India, UK conclude second round of talks for proposed free trade agreement

The planned free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the United Kingdom has reached its second stage of negotiations. The FTA intends to expand economic connections between the two countries.
For this round, an Indian delegation held technical talks in London. A draft treaty text was shared and discussed, including discussion of most chapters that will make up the FTA. Technical experts from both parties met in 64 distinct meetings to address 26 different policy issues.
India is set to host the third round of negotiations in April.
