Speaking at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (PHDCCI) 118th Annual Session, Mr. Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and the Minister of Cooperation, stated “Prime Minister Mr. Narender Modi has said that when India celebrates 100 years of Independence in 2047, we have to be number one in all sectors. The next 25 years will be the best. This is the start of Amrit Kaal.”
Rising India: "Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai Amrit Kaal of Unprecedented Growth" is the theme for this year's session.
He added that India has the majority of doctors, engineers, and technocrats. India has climbed from 11th rank in 2014 to 5th rank in the list of largest economies, the Union Minister said
Mr. Amit Shah claimed that while there were just 127 crore digital transactions in 2014, it has now gone up to 12,735 crore since then. While there were only four unicorn start-ups in 2014, it has increased to 115 today.
India is currently a profitable and highly sought-after destination for business. In 2014, the capital expenditure was Rs. 3.9 lakh crore (US$ 47 billion), and today it is Rs. 10 lakh crore (US$ 120 billion). There were 70 airports up to 2014, and there are now 138 airports nationwide. “We had 91,000 km of highways until 2014 and in nine years we added around 50,000 km in nine years,” he claimed.
Furthermore, he said that efforts are being made by the government to ensure that all eight capitals of the northeastern states will be connected by air, railways, and road by 2027.
Mr. Amit Shah also said that in the next decade, the New Education Policy would make India a preferred education hub.
