Indian films and series achieved a new milestone on Netflix, recording 688 million global views during the first half of 2026, highlighting the growing international appeal of India's entertainment industry. According to Netflix's latest "What We Watched" report, India emerged as the largest contributor to non-English film viewership on the platform between January and June 2026, while ranking third globally in overall film viewership after the United States and the United Kingdom. Four Indian films featured in Netflix's Global Top 100 Films list, with "Dhurandhar" leading at 37 million views. In another significant achievement, "Made in Korea" became the first South Indian film to top the platform's Global Non-English Films chart, underscoring the increasing global demand for Indian storytelling.

The strong performance extended to television content, with "Taskaree: The Smuggler's Web" emerging as the highest-ranked Indian series in Netflix's Global Top 100 TV list, while titles such as "The Great Indian Kapil Show," "Maamla Legal Hai," and "Kohrra" secured positions among the platform's Global Top 500 series. The growing international success of Indian content reflects the country's expanding influence in the global media and entertainment industry and reinforces its position as a key market in Netflix's long-term content strategy. Continued investments in Indian films, series and unscripted programming are expected to further strengthen content creation, support the creative ecosystem and enhance India's presence in the global streaming landscape, while creating new opportunities for producers, creators and the broader entertainment industry.
