Indian investors are emerging as one of the most dynamic buyer segments in the United Kingdom (UK) property market, particularly in London. Driven by favourable currency exchange rates, stable rental yields, and long-term wealth planning strategies, Indian high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and family offices are increasingly allocating capital to UK real estate. London-based Source Property Investments recently launched its premium residential project ‘Halo’ (by Berkeley Group) in India before introducing it in the UK, underscoring the rising significance of Indian buyers. Over 50% of the firm’s investor base currently comprises Indian nationals, indicating sustained interest in the segment.

According to recent reports by Knight Frank and Savills, Indian investors ranked among the top five international buyer groups in Prime Central London in 2024. Their investments rose by over 17% YoY, reflecting growing confidence in the UK property market. This surge is also supported by increasing student mobility and business migration from India to the UK. The interest spans both capital appreciation and rental income opportunities. With an average property price of Rs.10 crore (US$ 1.2 million), Indian investment volumes continue to gain traction, reinforcing their growing role in shaping the dynamics of the UK’s real estate landscape.
