The Indian Railways is set to operate 164 special trains on Wednesday to ensure timely travel for passengers during the festive season of Chhath and Diwali. As per Executive Director of Information and Publicity Mr. Dilip Kumar at the Railway Board, these trains will service routes from various locations across the country, including Secunderabad, Ahmedabad, Kottayam, Ujjain, Bhopal, New Delhi, and Nagpur to destinations in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
To enhance operational efficiency, the Indian Railways will also undertake an additional 7,000 trips nationwide with these special trains. To prevent any inconvenience for passengers at railway stations, teams of officers will be on duty around the clock. Additionally, the Railway Police Force, commercial staff, and other self-help groups (SHGs) will be deployed to assist passengers. In areas expected to experience overcrowding, extra seating arrangements and resting facilities have been established to ensure passenger comfort during this busy period.
