India's Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 130.39 Cr

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 1,30,39,32,286 as of December 09, 2021, (7am), with 80,86,910 vaccine doses administered in the previous 24 hours. This was accomplished by a total of 1,35,89,181 sessions.

According to the data as of 9th December, 2021 by 7:AM, the recovery of 8,251 patients in the last 24 hours brings the total number of recovered patients to 3,40,97,388 since the start of the pandemic. As a result, India's recovery rate has risen to 98.36%, the highest since March 2020.

India has recorded 9,419 new COVID-19 cases in the previous 24 hours and the active cases have increased to 94,742 comprising 0.27% of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.

The testing capacity in the country continues to grow. A total of 12,89,983 tests were performed in the last 24 hours. India has completed 65,19,50,127 total tests so far. Despite increased testing capacity across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate of 0.74% has remained below 1% for the past 25 days. The Daily Positivity Rate was reported to be 0.73%. For the past 66 days, the daily Positivity rate has been below 2%, and for the past 101 days, it has been below 3%.
