India's Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 137.67 Cr

According to provisional statistics, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 137.67 Cr (1.38 billion) till 20th December 7 A.M. with 15,82,079 vaccine doses administered. This was accomplished after 1,44,91,123 sessions.

The recovery of 8,077 individuals in the last 24 hours brings the total number of recovered patients to 3,41,87,017 since the start of the epidemic. As a result, India's recovery rate has risen to 98.39%, the highest since March 2020.

Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and States/UTs have maintained the trend of less than 15,000 daily new cases reported for the past 53 days.

In the previous 24 hours, 6,563 new cases have been reported.

The number of active cases in India is currently 82,267. This is the lowest it's been in 572 days. Active cases account for 0.24% of all Positive Cases in the country, the lowest level since March 2020.

The testing capacity in India continues to grow. A total of 8,77,055 tests were performed in the last 24 hours. Over 66.51 Cr (66,51,12,580) cumulative tests have been undertaken in India so far.

Despite increased testing capacity across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate of 0.60% has remained below 1% for the past 36 days. The Daily Positivity Rate was reported to be 0.75%. For the past 77 days, the daily Positivity rate has been below 2%, and for the past 112 days, it has been below 3%.
