India's public cloud services market to grow at 24.1% CAGR during 2020-25: IDC

Revenue of India’s public cloud services market stood at US$ 2.2 billion between January – June 2021, as per IDC’s Worldwide Semi-annual Public Cloud Services Tracker for 1H 2021. The public cloud services market included infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solutions, and software-as-a-service (SaaS). SaaS had a larger share of the overall public cloud market followed by IaaS and PaaS in 1H21.

The Indian public cloud services market is forecasted to increase at a CAGR of 24.1% between 2020-25.  

Organisations in India have accelerated the adoption of Cloud infrastructure and have increased investment plans in related infrastructure and platform in the next 12 months, according to Mr Rishu Sharma, Associate Research Director, Cloud and Artificial Intelligence, IDC India.

The covid-19 pandemic drove cloud adoption not only among enterprises but also among small and medium businesses.

The accelerated adoption of public cloud is expected to continue in future as enterprises focused on improving business resiliency and delivering enhanced customer experience expedite their digital transformation initiatives, as per Mr Harish Krishnakumar, Senior Market Analyst, IDC India.
